We are humans, there is never going to be enough. It doesn't matter if it is energy, space, or love. The top predators and survivors take advantage of every chance to use more, that is why they survive. An alligator in a pond does not rationalize how to maintain a descent stock of prey in the pond. It eats what it can, when it can, then when the pond is empty moves to the next pond. It either finds space to live or dies trying.
George Carlin, talks about how we aren't really about saving the planet, but only trying to maintain it in a narrow range so that we are protected. I hold this to be true and laugh at the notion of defender of the planet. It needs no defense, if life and the atmosphere were gone tomorrow the planet would still keep spinning around the sun on its journey to be burnt to a crisp. Everything temporal is destined to end.
Love is the same. We think "I will not be enough" or "It would hurt me if they felt love for another, because I don't have that much love." When I realized that I can not control someone else, then I can abandon the pain brought by things I can't control.
Being present where I am, loving as though I have never been hurt, and honoring my grief when that inevitable parting takes place. These allow me to rise above pain, anger, and hatred
When you remove the "I" from pain, then it is a pan. So cook up a big plate of forgiveness and find some people with whom you can share it.
Don't litter and be honest.
