Embracing the suck

The charge nurse made a 10 minute speech about this crazy chick who came into work the other night that they had to commit for psych reasons.  She went on about he bad shit that had happened in the woman's life, totally interrupting my lunch break with her sermon on the mount.

Anyways, I read a patch on a friend's FB page who is in a very sandy, hot place.  It said "embrace the suck."  It means to just shut the fuck up and do what ever pointless thing that needs to be done.  We all have had bad shit happen to us, life is for the most part wonderful, but their are still parts that just suck.  It is what we do with the suck that matters, we can run and hide from life, or use it as a stepping stone to move us higher in our development.

I am proud of that friend because he is over there for his own reasons, not because he has been ordered to do it by people who will shot him or throw him in jail if he doesn't.  I feel sorry for those guys over there that have been deluded into thinking patriotism is going half way around the world to die for the American way, when really it is a bunch of old men just trying to maintain the status quo.

They may call you a mercenary or a contractor, but I call you a man among men.  Live to spend it, brother.
